If hot dog carts are located on street corners across America, chaat stands are the equivalent in South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Nepal Pakistan, Sri Lanka). Chaat Dog is a mashup of the two combining Pervaiz Shallwani’s Chicago upbringing and Pakistani heritage. Think a Chicago style hotdog with a Desi twist. A ghee-toasted bun, topped with a Vienna Beef or Field Roast hot dog, your choice of chaat — potato, corn & poblano or mango — and then all the fixings (fried onions, green and red chutneys, chickpea crunches, prickled Fresno peppers, chaat salt and fresh cilantro. This is not your average Weiner.
